These award-winning burger restaurants are just a few you need to try across the UK
With the 11th annual National Burger Awards taking place 11 February, there’s no better time to check out the best cheeseburger champions who have taken home the title in recent years.
Bleecker Burger
Last year’s National Burger Awards winner, Bleecker, won the crown with its Bacon Double Cheeseburger. Starting from a humble food truck in 2012, Bleecker has built a name for itself – having won the National Burger Awards in 2024 and 2020. Bleecker’s six restaurants can be found in London and include spots in Victoria, Spitalfields and London Bridge.
The Beefy Boys
Making their National Burger Awards debut in 2023, The Beefy Boys stole the show with the Oklahoma Onion Boy Burger — a mouthwatering combo of smashed patties, melted cheese, and caramelized onions. Since then, The Beefy Boys have gone on to win fourth place in the Worlds Best Burger 2024 at the World Food Championships.The Beefy Boys can be found in Hereford, Shrewsbury and Cheltenham.
Danny's Burgers
This Bristol-based burger joint took home the National Burger Awards crown in 2022 with their signature creation, the Beef Chucky 2.0. While this legendary burger isn’t on the menu anymore, their rotating weekly specials are worth keeping an eye on. Head to Fierce and Noble in Bristol to visit the burger joint.
El Perro Negro
This Scotland-based restaurant took home the National Burger Awards crown in 2021 and 2019. El Perro Negro’s Top Dog Burger — stacked with double bacon, bone marrow butter, and black truffle mayo — has made a lasting mark. Their burgers can be found in Edinburgh’s Bonnie & Wild and Woodlands, Glasgow.
Whole Beast
For the 10-year anniversary of the National Burger Awards, a special Champion of Champions showdown brought together past winners and competitors. Whole Beast beat out Fattso and El Perro Negro with the Aged Cheeseburger, securing their spot as the ultimate UK burger champion. Find them at Exale Tap Room in London.
