Kerbside recyclable alternative to polystyrene packaging

This launch satisfies the high demand for sustainable packaging that reliably controls temperature and hence can be used to transport refrigerated food, even for overnight shipments. The double walled corrugated layers of the liners maintain a stable internal temperature for approximately 31 hours while external temperatures are at 23C. The externally verified experiments confirmed that the corrugated liner pack was as effective as the polystyrene version for the full testing period of 48 hours.
This innovative addition to the Kite website is complemented by their water ice packs that serve as a coolant to be placed inside the box and liners. These packs contain solely water, providing a sustainable substitute to gel ice packs which contain an absorbent plastic polymer. This polymer risks introducing microplastics into our waterways if poured down a drain after use; water ice packs eliminate this concern.
